Jasper Words
JasperReports® is ideally suited out-of-the-box for the dynamic generation of print-ready reports in PDF and Excel. The reporting engine is then usually integrated into a separate application or print outputs are generated via the Jasperreports server. More often, not all the information required in the report is available when the report is generated; before a report can be sent to customers as a PDF, content must be customized or additional information added.
Word output is then typically the format of choice. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes apparent that the Word export from Jasperreports has some shortcomings: The contents of the report are aligned in nested tables to ensure exact positioning. Headers and footers of the Jasper report are converted to simple table rows and page numbers are converted to static text. Such a Word output is actually no longer usable and in no way fulfills the original requirements.
With Jasper Words, we offer an alternative DOCX exporter that exactly meets the requirement for editable Word documents! Jasper Words can be used with the JasperReports® library in your application. However, our Word Exporter also fully supports integration into the Jasperreports Server. Your reports can be saved as editable, dynamic DOCX from both the Report Viewer and Scheduling.
